Uncle DT's Random Image Thread
In some ways I guess it's a good thing though.  Even though SCSI is a standard, I think the connectors are what held it back and why it's not used anymore.  MIDI just made sense...

I think it'd be hysterical if SCSI stayed prevalent. I got my little SSD drive and the connector it plugs into is twice its size...

Assuming performance and architecture kept up with technology, SCSI could have stayed as a real contender...

One of these days I'm going to go through my entire 8-bit library on disk and look for my BBS (too bad the hard drive is long gone - that would have been some serious nostalgia). I know I made backups of it and I'm sure I have your code somewhere...

[and I entered the code example from the Action! wikipedia entry:

oooh, that sounds like something fun to do on a rainy weekend!   Hmmm, I wonder what's on this disc...

It's supposed to be rainy this Sunday - too bad I have a bunch of other projects that need to be worked on. But Saturday we're going to a show: Bugs Bunny at the Symphony in Springfield...

Maybe it needs to be like that one Wednesday when you got a call early morning waking you up and the guy on the other end of the phone said that Stratton just got eight inches of fresh powder and he was calling in sick...

Well, our company introduced an additional personal floating holiday this year so maybe I'll just have to do something like that. But holy shit, Stratton lift tickets this season were $200 for peak days and $167 for non-peak days. Can you imagine if weekends are the only time you can go and spending $200 on a lift ticket to waste about 4 hours standing in line...?

Maybe that's one of the silver linings that I need to consider.  I stopped skiing when it wasn't as much fun down here and now if I were to consider spending $200 for a lift ticket to spend just half of a day just trying to remember isn't really a worthwhile proposition anymore...

That's Stratton and a few other of the re-branded as "posh" resorts with tickets in that range. Jay Peak was $109 non-weekend but they were sending me deals all season for around $85. And for $68 you can re-learn your skill on the lower half of the mountain. I think it'd be a hoot to see ya back on skis...

Well, there would be no "half way" option in my world.  If I go to Jay, I will be going to the top.  At this point I wouldn't be warming up on a diamond anymore, but you can be damned sure I'm not going to puss out on circles and squares from half-way up...
