Oh wow, I had forgotten about that one. Yeah, but I do now remember we were saying at least it was Sprint and not Coke. One question though, did you remember what that byte was originally so you could correct it in the copy? 
So subtract that SIO jack, plus the smaller form factor / smaller pcb, they were able to save on cost. That was after Tramiel took over, right? I still like the 1030 design over the XM301. It matched my XL and was flat so you could set the phone right on top.
