Uncle DT's Random Image Thread
Damn, I've been going deep looking for vids and every one of them really show that she's fitting in and Alex and Geddy are super happy to be back on stage and happy with their choice of who is sitting up on the drum riser.

And the set list is completely different each night, they're pulling songs out of the archives that haven't been played in years, then the next night a different set.  I hate that tickets are so damn expensive though...

It's ridiculous how much the tickets are. They'll be in CT in November and the scalpers verified resellers are trying to sell $400 tickets for $1,100 and it's not even a sold out show. Even the $400 is way more than reasonable. How can a concert ticket cost 1/5 of your average rent? The problem are the stupid rich and the just plain stupid. If people actually complained with their wallets and didn't go to these shows then prices would come down. But instead, people complain and then say "oh well, it is what it is" and fork over the money.

Accounting for inflation, $400 today would be like spending $200 back in 1999. Although, the Iron Maiden tickets I got, if I compare it to the last time I saw them on their Somewhere on Tour back in '87, it would have been equivalent to a $43 ticket. A bit on the high end, but manageable...

You're going to see Maiden?  That's awesome!  I've come to the realization that shows are just getting far too expensive and that cost diminishes my enjoyment more than it should.  So I'm opting out on a few shows that I would love to see, Maiden being one, and Rush is the other.  But I have seen both enough times that I'm ok with that decision.

Gone are the days of the $12.50 ticket with no extra fees tacked on.  (Except maybe the $1 that Harvest got from me each time for their fees.  And that I was ok with, they're a local business and $1 is reasonable...)

Yeah. It's been decades since I've been to a metal concert and I hem'd and haw'd whether I should go and in the end decided why not. It'll be interesting...

Spoiler - you'll see guys our age and older, but that was normal going to see Maiden in the 80's and 90's.  You'll also see kids much younger than we were in the 80's.  Like grade school kids at the show.  You know those parents and grandparents are raising those kids on real music...

I pretty much expected to see a bunch of old and aging people. I certainly don't expect it to be too rowdy like it was when were teenagers, but I don't expect it to be tame either...

Holy crap, I never knew they did Ren and Stimpy as Eddie.  That looks awesome.

I did find someone that did their makeup to look like Eddie, though...

That was pretty cool to watch. I remember seeing another Eddie makeup video many years ago that was equally as good. I've always liked seeing body art, especially the illusion ones...

I would agree, some of those body art artists are truly artists.  What they do is pretty amazing and create some pretty convincing illusions.

Living in the south, however, makes me wonder if a lot of the women think they are all on par with some of those...

I would have thought the heat down there would make all that makeup a bit icky to wear, but then again, they probably have to wear all that makeup to hide the black eye and bruises from mouthing off...

Ooooh, that made me laugh.  I had zero clue from where that image came from, but it did remind me of an episode of Trailer Park Boys when they kidnapped Alex Lifeson...

Damn, how'd I miss that one. I could have sworn I watched every episode of them...

That was the only episode that I did watch.  While I appreciated it for what it was, it was just too damn close to reality tv for me even slightly enjoy.  It was kind of like the uncanny valley of reality television...

The show was designed to be a mockumentary with over the top and exaggerated characters - but given the current society today, it almost seems pale in comparison. We weren't supposed to go this route, were we...?
