I honestly don't remember what any of the nurses in all of the schools I went to looked like. I imagine they were all just rather ordinary and non-descript. Or I just had way too much class and respect...

I agree. I got to see them way back for Stay Hungry. They opened for someone and were so good I can't even recall who they opened for...
And dude is smart, like genius level smart, to team up with John and Frank to take on the PMRC in front of congress. The resulting sticker that got placed on offending records ended up doing the opposite by driving even more sales for those that were labeled...

I remember when that happened. I don't recall if I saw clips of it on C-SPAN or MTV though. But even a 14 year old could tell those clowns in congress got their asses handed to themselves.

Yeah, I never cared for either of their music. I never followed their careers or who they were as people. I just know a few of Denver's songs that become earworms and would drive me nuts. Come to think of it, it's been many many years since I've heard one of his tunes. And that's a good thing...

I never appreciated their music, and the Grateful Dead are another band that has a huge following that I just don't care for. But I can respect what they did for music. And Zappa is extremely intelligent, not to mention how they handled the PMRC in front of everyone...

I'm with you on the Greatful Dead. Never liked their music. I remember when I was little and would see their t-shirts, I thought they were bad-ass. Same with Molly Hatchet shirts. And then I heard their music and I was like, ewewewww this is awful. This sound does not represent the image they are portraying. But there's something to be said about the "rabble rousers" of music in that they are for the most part very smart people. Unlike most of your pop and hip-hop artists (using that term lightly) that are just a bunch of meat bags...

Oh yeah, I agree with you on the dead t-shirts. I thought this band has to be cool to have stuff like this, and so many people that follow them. I tried. Honestly I did. Even when Timmo was a roommate and he would listen to them, I tried. But they are just purely insufferable cacophony (and I don't mean the band with that name, those guys are good...).
Oh, and I remember that poster. I think mom said that all of the stuff that I had in my room was packed up and moved to the attic when they redid my bedroom. I might need to ask her to get it all down the next time I head up there for a visit...

I really liked that poster too. It took forever to find an image of it. I remember dating a girl who made a comment about it while at her place. She asked if I liked what she was wearing and if I would like her to wear something like that. Hell yeah! Although, we didn't last long enough to get to that point. I had no idea Iron Maiden was JUST inducted. So of course I had to go spend time reading about it. Love this quote from their manager:

And then read how it was fitting since it was also the band's 50th anniversary celebrations with the Run For Your Lives World Tour. Needless to say I had to check their dates. While I wasn't planning on going to the Maiden show this fall, prices are way outrageous, more so than when I saw them last time they came through. But if you wanted to head down this way, you have a place to stay and I would definitely go. Megadeth isn't that good, at least the one time that I did see them. And it's been too many years since I've seen Anthrax...

I saw the Charlotte destination and that thought did occur. Although, if I have a chance to see Iron Maiden and Anthrax on the same night, that's really what I want. If the bands opening were mediocre, then yeah, a trip down south would certainly be in order. I think the last time I saw Anthrax was with you in Springfield on the small stage. I want to say Stile was there as well - and the beer toss that better not hit the car...

I do think Stile was with us on that trip. Same as the AC/DC show there when Mel that worked with me at Gerber could not stop talking about that night for months and told anyone and everyone that would listen...
