It's funny as you get older the thought of having an exotic sport cars collection isn't as appealing as it was when I was a teenager. Although, I've always wanted a Countach, but all the videos of people that have gotten one because it was their dream car were all disappointed and their dreams shattered because it was just an unruly and uncomfortable beast. Many years ago I told the wife that if I was to ever get a Countach, I would never drive it and instead mount it on the wall...

I know what you mean. But I honestly thought I would be working at Doxee for years and thought I would have multiple opportunities to test drive Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other Italian exotics. They're all manufactured near the office in Modena. A consultant that was there the same time I was took his birthday weekend and gave himself a one hour drive in a Ferrari. He said it was the smoothest car he's ever driven...
The first time I have ever seen a car stuck to the wall was in a Quaker Steak and Lube...

I've talked about going to Las Vegas and doing the Dream Ride experience. I know my daughter would be coming along as well (she wants to drive the Nissan GT-R). But I think we should do this and see who gets the better lap... (and afterwards heading out to the desert with the machine gun mounted jeep and firing a couple thousand rounds at whatever is out there)

That could be doable. It's about a 65 mile loop, figuring we can average at least 120mph so give or take a 30 minute test-drive? I checked the exotic sport car rentals around the area and around $1,400/day puts that way out of the realm of my budget...

The Dream Ride experience might just be the best option then. I seriously doubt either of us will have the credentials to take a Ferrari or Lamborghini out for a test ride, let alone a McLaren...

If done right I think we could absolutely get a test drive from a dealership. The few dealer sites I visited ask to set up a reservation and bring your drivers license. I've also watched a few VINWiki videos and some of the stories it sounds like some dealers will let just about anyone test drive one...
And here's the list of those snappy quotes:
