And I am sure you knew about what direction I was going to go. It was either going to be something from the twisted mind of Gary Larson, or this gem from our childhood...

Even as a kid I never understood how Elmer couldn't see through that disguise. And since you mentioned Gary Larson I'd share today's calendar. I don't know how old these ones are, but so far this entire month I haven't seen any I've ever seen before...
As a kid I never understood that either. But there are some scary things out there. A few times in Mexico City, the only give-away that things weren't quite what they appear was just the slightly larger adam's apple. Maybe Elmer's tastes weren't quite as discriminating...

I'm pretty happy that I don't have to worry about the dating scene anymore. It's getting more difficult to know if what you're looking at is genuine or has been swapped for parts...
Did you know that duct tape comes in a rainbow of colors? When I was active in the SCA, we used a lot of duct tape to mark things. Like the swords were made of rattan so you could hit someone full force, and you marked the flat of your blade with one color and the edges were with a different color.
Of course I used red for the edges....

Of course. I would have used yellow for the sharp side - because that's the color they are when they're running away from me. Now the camouflage one appeals to me. What doesn't is the price or the amount you get on the colored rolls...
What's weird (or maybe not so) was when they first started coming out with color duct tape, the rolls were the same size as the normal silver tape, but was only a dollar or two more per roll. But the color selection was pretty limited, I think just black, yellow, red, blue, and maybe green. But that was 26 or 27 years ago too, so my memory of the colors is sketchy, but I do remember the price and amount of tape on the roll was pretty comparable...

It's nuts that the colored stuff runs between $4 and $8 for 10yd or 20yd rolls. Yet a standard 60yd roll goes between $5 and $9. It also drives me nuts that I can buy a fully functional duplex 15amp outlet for $.80 but for some stupid reason, the plastic outlet cover cost $3. I will never understand how goods are priced...
You must be shopping at Restoration Hardware for those gang plates. Or you're looking at the boutique plates at the big box stores. Lowes has single gang plates for $0.78 each, and even less if you get them in a ten-pack...
