I thought about the display converters for LCD and HDMI and realized that you'd get a loss of the scan lines and the artifacting that went along with it. The retro image is what creates the nostalgia. I recently set up a retro gaming machine. It's just a tiny mini PC with a bunch of hardware emulators and a crap-ton of games, much like this one (yes, I used my camera to photo the screen)...
